I am a Designer for Philips Research Americas at the HealthTech Innovation Lab in Cambridge, Massachusetts. I graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2018 with a BFA in Industrial Design and a concentration in Nature Culture & Sustainability Studies (NCSS). During school I was an active hacker/maker at a a wide variety of events, including Designation / Better World by Design / Hack Harvard / She Hacks / Make Harvard / Hack@Brown.
For the past year I have been collaborating with Dr. Jason Hack, Professor of Emergency Medicine at Brown Medical School on reimagining pain quality assessment. Previously I worked with: Tellart / Loft / Victaulic / MASS Design Group / Microsoft / Scale Up Labs / Predicate Group.
Yo soy Colombiana! — born in Bogota, I was raised in Virginia. I am an avid explorer of new places and cultures and these explorations help to better inform how I interpret the world around me. I am curious about how the world around me “works” and can be pretty obsessive about learning new skills. I have taught myself photography (a long term obsession), acoustic and electric guitar, Ableton Live + Launchpad Mini, public speaking, billiards, exercise, and cooking. Past obsessions have included magic, juggling, Marzipan figurines, Rubik’s Cubes (3x3, 2x2) and Rube Goldberg machines.
